Ingredients

  • 1 cup raw pumpkin seeds, rinsed and dried
  • \n

  • 6 tablespoons white sugar, divided
  • \n

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • \n

  • 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • \n

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • \n

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 250 degrees F (120 degrees C). Spread pumpkin seeds in a single layer on a baking sheet. Toast for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally, until dry and toasted. Larger seeds may take longer.

  3. In a large bowl, stir together 2 tablespoons of white sugar, salt, and pumpkin pie spice. Set aside. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the pumpkin seeds and sprinkle the remaining sugar over them. Stir with a wooden spoon until the sugar melts, about 45 seconds. Pour seeds into the bowl with the spiced sugar and stir until coated. Allow to cool before serving. Store in an airtight container at room temperature.

Logic says we should support their desire stay in holding pattern; after all, buyers are getting deals every day right? Well, sort of. \n\nCertainly home prices have dropped – dramatically even in some areas of the country – but I’m here to tell you that one of the most common myths among buyers is that waiting for a home price to drop is the best way to “get a deal.”\n\nThe truth? Interests rates can have a much more significant effect on price. In other words, locking in low interests rates will almost always nullify any price drop. Here’s the other caveat: the longer you wait for a home’s’ price to drop, the more likely it is that interest rates will go up.\n\nLet’s look at an example where an increase in interest rates are applied to a 30-year loan. As you’ll see in the table below, the effect of an increasing interest rate is huge – much bigger than a 10 percent drop in home price. Conversely, a drop in interest rate can significantly decrease the total interest paid over the life of a mortgage loan.\n
